Since then, our team has guided groups with 2 to 240 participants from all over the world – from architecture firms to municipalities and from housing corporations to architectural associations. The tours are guided by a team of experienced architects, who have various specializations within the field of architecture.
Partner
is a renowned architecture journalist and writer. Anneke was born in Frankfurt/Germany and has been living in Amsterdam since 2000. She holds an M.A. in History of Art and Architecture from FU Berlin and writes about architecture and design in the Netherlands.
In 2004 Anneke decided to share her knowledge about Dutch building culture with visitor groups from abroad. She founded architour and joined the Guiding Architects Network.
Anneke develops programmes, organizes tours and guides groups in English, German and Dutch, while still publishing articles and contributing to books on Dutch architecture.
Her articles have appeared in a.o. Domus Germany, DETAIL, Mark Magazine, Frame Magazine Azure Magazine, Mare, Bauwelt and HÄUSER. She also acts as jury member for various Dutch and international architecture awards, writes book contributions and does film interviews.
As an architecture journalist, Anneke has excellent connections in the Dutch architecture scene and is always up to date about new projects. She can tell lots of stories about buildings and knows the important players in the field.
She’s also the author of the Marco Polo travel guidebook to Amsterdam and published an Architectural Guide to Rotterdam (DOM Publishers) in 2021.
Anneke speaks fluent German, English and Dutch, reasonable French and has a grasp of Spanish and Portuguese.
Partner
is an experienced architect and lecturer. He was born in Utrecht (The Netherlands) and graduated from TU Delft with an honourable degree in architecture in 1995. In the following years Paul worked as an architect for various Dutch architecture firms.
Paul was involved in projects in city extensions and urban renewal areas, and his focus has always been on housing as well as urban planning.
Paul develops and organizes programmes and guides tours in English, Dutch and German. He also teaches at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam.
Paul’s experiences as an exchange student at ETH Zürich and in Lausanne turned him into an internationally orientated architect. His English and German are fluent, and he also has a good understanding of Italian.
Both teaching and his experience as an architect provide an excellent background for his work with architour.
